WONDER NOVEL REINTERPRETED

In this project I worked with a brief from 'Penguin Classics' to redesign the cover for the well known Children's Non-Fiction novel 'Wonder' by R. J. Palacio.

Using the passage in the novel where Auggie cuts off his 'padawan braid' because the other children are bullying him. I wanted to bring focus to the fact that this book deals with the concept of coming of age. In Star Wars, Padawan's cut off their braids when they become official Jedi Knights, so you can also see Auggie's decision to cut off his braid as symbolic of him coming into his own.
